insomniac ramblings
well, can’t sleep as usual these days. anyways, some camera gear stuff to take my mind off things…
Just when I was all set to jump on the X-Pro1 soon as I got the cash, I see a review for this bloody thing. The Nikon 28mm f1.8g. Of course, it’s got rave bloody reviews already and it’s barely been on the streets. And then silly me decides to add up the cost of a D600 + 28 + 50 kit vs a XP1 + 28 + 50 kit and of course they add up to being the same price +/- a little bit. So that doesn’t help with decision making at all. Plus, the D600 kit would be more or less the same weight as my K-5 kit. Sure is a real dilemma I have at this point. And as it is now, the sheer quality of the 28mm, as well as DoF and operational speed advantages of the Nikon kit are pushing me back to the D600 side. All these beautiful Nikon D700 500px photos aren’t helping matters, either.
Good thing Nathan made me splurge on clothes and shit because if I went out and bought an X-Pro1, I might be regretting it right now…

http://500px.com/HelonLaw

500px is like Tumblr for photographers.

Goodbye, the rest of my free time.

So I just discovered 500px.com

Simply put, it’s a website full of the best images from anyone who’s got an account, and jesus christ. This is the kind of website that makes me go wow, I will never, ever become 1/10th of these photographers.
